We are two people who are teachers of reading and writing and are also married and have two children. We live and work in Fairfield County, Connecticut.

One of these two people, Ryan Jockers, teaches language arts, social studies and a logic-based enrichment course at Helen Keller Middle School, in Easton. He is finishing his ninth year teaching; previously, he wrote for newspapers.

The other person, Keri Jockers, teaches language arts at Bedford Middle School, in Westport. She is finishing her 16th year of teaching. She has also taught special education, at Stamford High School.

Both Mr. and Mrs. Jockers have obtained Master’s degrees in Reading from Southern Connecticut State University, and are certified to teach Remedial Reading. This summer they will celebrate their 15th anniversary.

Their children, a daughter and a son, attend public school in Stratford. They also have a dog, Kobi. She is very cute.
